The autel VCI (vehicle interface) uses pins 4 and 5 on the truck connector side as grounds. Pin 16 is for power. The VCI gets its power from the truck normally.
The power supply that powers the autel tablet can also be used to power the VCI without being plugged into a truck.
If you are connecting the VCI to a truck and it is not powering up, check the VCI by plugging into another truck. This helps identify there is actually an issue with the truck and not the VCI.
